Christ is Risen, brothers and sisters!
Join us on the 9th of May, Saturday, on a pilgrimage to Bangor to commemorate St Comgall, whose feast falls on Sunday, 10th of May. Comgall is one of the most important local Irish saints, founding the Bangor abbey in the 6th century, which sent missionaries across Europe. The Bangor Abbey church is on the site of the monastery.

Program and Practical Instructions:
Meet at Bangor Abbey Church, which is on the site of the abbey founded by St Comgall, park in the church car park. If the front door is closed, enter by the side door at the left.
We will start with a service in the church, followed by a walk along Malachy’s Wall and then follow the “Bangor Bell Trail” to the North Down Museum at Bangor Castle where there are a number of items associated with the Abbey.
Owing to changeable weather, we have decided not to have a picnic lunch. There is a cafe at the museum, where we will share a meal.

If driving, enter the church from Abbey Street at a small public car park. Turn right and drive past the stone wall to the church car park. If you arrive from the west, you will need to drive to the roundabout to make a U turn on the dual carriageway.
By public transport, the church is a short walk from the main bus and train station. There are two trains an hour from Belfast.
