By God’s grace, we held our regular monthly Divine Services at St Ignatius of Antioch Parish on the weekend of 25–26 July.

With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Silouan, on Saturday, 25 July, following Great Vespers, we celebrated the Sacrament of Holy Unction. In this holy mystery, we pray for the strengthening of our spiritual life, for the forgiveness of sins, and for the healing of both our spiritual and physical infirmities by our merciful Lord.

On Sunday, we celebrated Orthros followed by the Divine Liturgy. At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, we served a Trisagion (Memorial Service) for the newly departed servant of God Athanasius (Colin), our long-standing parishioner, who reposed in the Lord a few weeks ago at his home in Scotland. Colin and his wife, Arlene, had relocated there last year to be closer to their children. May the memory of Athanasius be eternal, and may the Lord grant rest to his soul. Christ is Risen!

During August, Reader’s Services will be held on Sunday, 9 August, and Sunday, 23 August. Monthly Divine Services with a priest will resume on the first weekend of September, when we will be blessed by the hierarchical visit of our father and Metropolitan, His Eminence Metropolitan Silouan.
